About Sembcorp Salalah Power and Water Company
Sembcorp Salalah Power & Water Company operates the Salalah Independent Water and Power Plant (IWPP) in the Dhofar Governorate, a large integrated power and water plant in southern Oman. The facility combines a gas-fired combined-cycle power block rated at 445 MW with a reverse-osmosis seawater desalination plant producing 15 million imperial gallons (69,000 cubic metres) of potable water per day. The USD 1 billion plant entered full commercial operation in May 2012. The operating company is a joint venture, Sembcorp Utilities (70%) and Oman Investment Corporation (30%), and is listed on the Muscat Stock Exchange. A new 10-year Power and Water Purchase Agreement with Nama PWP begins in April 2027, contracting 465 MW and 68,190 m³ of water per day. The Salalah IWPP workforce is a tight-knit, highly technical team, operators, electrical and mechanical maintenance engineers, chemical engineers for desal, HSE, performance and reliability engineers, and a corporate function in Muscat/Salalah that liaises with Nama PWP, PAEW, lenders, Sembcorp HQ in Singapore and OIC. Delegations from Dhofar Municipality, Ministry of Energy and Minerals and shareholders visit regularly. Cardify gives Sembcorp Salalah a dignified, bilingual EN/AR digital card per employee, with QR-to-vCard for instant save on any delegate's phone. Central brand control preserves Sembcorp's global identity alongside the Salalah-specific IWPP identity. Role-based templates can distinguish plant technical staff from corporate and commercial teams. Updates (plant-manager rotation, new water-supply contract details, new PWPA milestone messaging) propagate instantly across every employee without a single reprint. For Nama PWP handouts, Dhofar Municipality meetings and shareholder AGM events, printed bulk cards remain available through local Omani print shops from within the same dashboard, and scan analytics give management an honest read on external engagement. Teams at Sembcorp Salalah can start bilingual EN/AR cards free on Cardify and roll out across plant operations, commercial, corporate and HSE functions as adoption scales.
