About Al Suwadi Power Company SAOG

Al Suwadi Power Company is the Oman-listed IPP that owns and operates the Barka 3 power plant, a 745 MW gas-fired combined-cycle facility located about 80 km northwest of Muscat, adjacent to the existing Barka 1 and Barka 2 IWPPs. The plant uses two Siemens SGT5-4000F gas turbines with triple-pressure heat recovery steam generators and a Siemens SST5-5000 steam turbine. It entered full commercial operation on 3 April 2013. The company is owned by a consortium that includes Engie (ex-GDF Suez), Multitech (part of Suhail Bahwan Group), Sojitz, Shikoku Electric Power and the Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI) of Oman. A renewed PPA with Nama PWP takes effect from April 2028 to March 2043. A 745 MW IPP runs a compact team: plant manager, shift operators, electrical and mechanical maintenance engineers, a reliability/performance engineering function, HSE, a small commercial and finance team, and a corporate affairs function that liaises with Nama PWP, lenders, shareholders and the O&M contractor STOMO. External engagements, while fewer in number than a trading company's, are each high-stakes, a shareholder board meeting, an insurance broker's annual renewal visit, a lender technical advisor inspection. Cardify provides a dignified, bilingual EN/AR digital card per employee with QR-to-vCard for instant save, central brand control matching the Al Suwadi Power identity, and role-based templates that distinguish plant technical staff from commercial and corporate staff. Updates propagate in seconds whenever a plant manager rotates or a shareholder representative changes. For ceremonial visits, delegation meetings or shareholder AGMs, printed bulk cards can still be ordered through local Omani print shops from within the same dashboard. Teams at Al Suwadi Power can start bilingual EN/AR cards free on Cardify and roll out across plant operations, commercial and corporate support.
