Al Batinah Power Company SAOG operates the Sohar II IPP, a natural gas-fired combined-cycle power plant of around 750 MW in Al Batinah North, supplying electricity to the main interconnected system under a long-term PPA with OPWP. Al Batinah Power is listed on the Muscat Stock Exchange, sharing international sponsors with sister listed IPP Al Suwadi Power (Barka II), together with Omani institutional investors. The company runs a typical lean IPP organisation of several dozen staff directly, supported by an O&M contractor and EPC legacy OEM (Siemens or GE) for turbines, covering plant operations, control, maintenance, HSE, commercial contract management, finance and government relations. External interaction flow is focused but high-stakes, OPWP under the long-term PPA, gas supplier and transporter (OQGN), EPC legacy OEM, O&M contractor, lenders, auditors, APSR and the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.
