ASYAD Drydock Co LLC (Oman Drydock Company) operates the Duqm Drydock, one of the largest ship repair and shipbuilding yards in the region, located in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm. The yard features two very large graving docks (including one of the largest in the Middle East at around 410m x 95m) capable of dry-docking VLCCs, LNG carriers, naval vessels and major offshore assets, plus quays, workshops and fabrication. The company is part of the ASYAD Group (Oman's integrated logistics conglomerate under OIA), and operates under a strategic arrangement that historically included Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering as technical partner. ASYAD Drydock employs several hundred to more than a thousand staff across yard operations, ship repair, steel fabrication, paint and blasting, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, HSE, commercial, HR and support functions. External interaction flow is heavy, shipowners and managers globally, classification societies (ABS, DNV, LR, BV, CCS, NK), flag states, insurance surveyors, naval/defence customers, offshore operators and Duqm SEZ authority.
